Guerrero Negro, BCS. Taco total: 23
¡Taqueria Vivo Mexico! (Name of the taco shop)
Damngurl these tacos were da bomb! I had two carne asada and two pork tacos and they were both the best of each type of meat I’ve tasted so far in Mexico. Guerrero Negro is the first city on Highway 1 in Baja Sur, and the southern portion of this peninsula greeted us with amazing food. We bought a 6pack of Indio beer to accompany the meal, and the restaurant had the full complement of toppings laid out on the bar. Pickled onions, lettuce, pico de gallo, salsa verde, and an avocado sauce that I’ve come to love. Plus some radishes to munch on.
We finished our tacos quickly - the pork and steak were seriously seasoned perfectly. I want to learn how to make pork like that…I need to start asking more questions when I eat something as delicious as this.
After devouring our meal, there was another menu item that caught our eye: Un Vampiro. My phone died before I could take a picture, but a Vampiro is essentially just a carne asada tostada with melted cheese on top. A messy and wonderful nightcap.
Cost: 80 pesos for 4 tacos and a vampiro. Plus BYOB.
